See 'Product release notes' on page 2 to view a complete list of resolutions and enhancements for each product. Table 1: Resolved Issues and Enhancements Product Toad for Oracle Resolved Issues and Enhancements A new ASH Browser lets you view ASH session history in graphical form according to different performance criteria. Drill-down panes show the most active queries and their statistics, execution plan, and syntax. 2

3 Product Resolved Issues and Enhancements The ASM Manager has new Space History and IO History tabs. These tabs are similar to the Space History and IO HIstory tabs in the Tablespaces window. Team Coding has several enhancements, such as support for tables, constraints, indexes, and sequences, as well as the ability to create VCS sub-projects for schemas and object types from within a Code Collection. Fixed a problem where the Schema Browser returned an error when going to the Scripts tab for a table that is partitioned and also has an XMLTYPE column. Spotlight on Oracle Toad Data Modeler Improved the general resourcing and memory use of Spotlight on Oracle. Fixed a problem with Spotlight on Oracle 64bit, where in an environment with 30+ connections the client crashed and there were memory issues. Support for Microsoft SQL Server Support for IBM DB2 v.10.5 (LUW). Model Actions Window contains the most used Model Synchronization Actions and allows users to save time by saving and loading custom Action Definitions. Benchmark Factory for Databases When selecting a capture to replay, you no longer need to browse to find captures. Previously-captured workloads are automatically stored in the Captures directory. Benchmark Factory supports SQL Server Now you can easily include a Stream Test when creating a TPC-H workload in the New Job Wizard. Code Tester for Oracle Code Tester now uses the Dell name rather than Quest Software in installation paths, Windows Start menu, documentation, and other areas. Fixed a bug where formatting XML export files (CTs and tabs between tags) in some Oracle versions did not allow the creation of an XMLDOM document. Now, no formatting is done in the XML export file, and #13#10 combinations in string values are replaced with Oracle newline symbols. Resolved a bug where, if a large number of tests were added to and removed from a test definition, not all of the test units were shown in the Result Viewer after they were run. SQL Optimizer for Oracle A new Test Run Settings dialog provides a simpler way to specifying test run options by answering a few questions. The Test Run button now provides only two menu options: Test Run - All to test run all alternatives and Test Run Selected for multiple alternatives. The Test Run Settings dialog includes several new test run options. Backup Reporter for Oracle Toad for MySQL This release of Backup Reporter for Oracle has not changed from the previous release that was included in the Toad for Oracle bundled products editions. It includes some resolved issues and minor enhancements. Version Control has been re-implemented in Toad for MySQL. 3

4 Product Resolved Issues and Enhancements In the Query Builder or saved.tsm file, you can now select a different connection to execute the query against. When exporting to Excel using the Export Wizard, you can now automatically append the exported data to already existing data on a worksheet. Dell Installer No new features or enhancements. Database server Oracle Oracle 8.0.6; 8.1.7; 9i; 9i R2; 10g; 10g R2; 11g, 11g R2, 12c. Exadata Toad has been tested on Oracle Exadata 2.0 running Oracle database 11g R2. Exceptions: IMPORTANT: It is recommended that your client version be of the same release (or later) as your database server. This is an Oracle recommendation to prevent performance issues. 5

6 Requirement SQL Optimizer requires or later. Code Tester requires or later. Spotlight requires or later and SQL*Net 3.5 or later. Toad Data Modeler requires 9i or later. Toad for MySQL Freeware does not support Oracle. See its Release Notes in Product Release Notes for supported servers. Dell Backup Reporter for Oracle requires 9i or later. Cloud database service Oracle databases running on Amazon EC2 Exception: Benchmark Factory has not been tested. IPv6 Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is being adopted by the US Federal Government and industries around the world. In its most basic format, the new protocol uses 128-bit addresses instead of 32-bit addresses used by the current IPv4 to route packets over the Internet. Toad for Oracle features such as FTP access the Internet through third-party vendors such as /nsoftware's IP*Works that are IPv6 compliant. For access to Web sites by way of the Toad Online window, Toad simply invokes the userdefined or default Web browser. Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or later (to view the Installation Guide). Dell Backup Reporter for Oracle: Dell Backup Reporter requires that the.net framework version 2.0 through version 3.5 be installed. SQL Optimizer: NET Framework Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 Full Profile Spotlight on Oracle: Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 (Service Pack 1 or later) Toad for MySQL Freeware: Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0. The following conditions apply: If you have the.net Framework 4.0 installed, you must still install the.net Framework 3.5 (Service Pack 1). 6

7 Requirement The.NET Framework Client Profile is not supported. Additional requirements Spotlight requires: Monitor capable of supporting a resolution of 1280x1024 or larger. (You should also set the display to use the 64K color palette [65536 colors].) RAC edition supports up to 16 instances in a cluster, with a theoretical limit of 36 instances. Virtualization support Table 5: Virtualization support Before installing your Toad Edition review the following for virtualization support: Type Application virtualization Citrix XenApp 5.0 and 6.5 have been tested. Exception: Benchmark Factory: tested with Citrix XenApp 6.5. SQL Optimizer: tested with Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) 5.0 on Windows 7 and Windows Server Desktop virtualization (VDI) Dell vworkspace 7.0 has been tested. Exceptions: Toad for MySQL Has not been tested Spotlight Has been tested on desktop VMware workstations. Server virtualization Oracle VM 3.1 has been tested. Exceptions: Benchmark Factory for Databases - Oracle Edition has not been tested. Toad for MySQL has not been tested. Spotlight has been tested on VMware ESX server. Spotlight supports Oracle Virtualization (OVM). Limited testing has been done using Oracle VM 3.0. VMware ESX Server 3.5 has been tested. Exceptions: Toad Data Modeler has been tested using VMware Server 3.0. Toad for MySQL has not been tested. 7
